چکیده

An educational building must integrate smart strategies to ensure indoor environmental quality. Thermal, acoustic, visual comfort and air quality are be considered, otherwise they can develop the sick syndrome. Smart buildings solve this potential problem by providing a highly efficient living ambience that includes safety, good of living/learning/working experience, helps users achieve their best possible performance. These should advanced technologies such as automated systems implementation architectural skins, well functional designed spaces features act active bioclimatic solutions. The following is case study an project for elementary junior high school academic campus in state Nuevo León, Mexico has deal with extreme climate conditions location, while applying alternative through inmotics, responsive skin, sustainable construction native vegetation. In doing so, comprehensive environmentally friendly created, taking advantage surrounding natural conditions, using latest oriented technologies. result healthy, safe, productive space its greatly benefits teaching-learning process.

Occupant Satisfaction with Indoor Environmental Quality in Green Buildings

This paper summarizes the results of a large indoor environmental quality survey in office buildings, comparing green with non-green buildings. On average, occupants in green buildings were more satisfied with thermal comfort and air quality in their workspace. However, the average satisfaction scores in green buildings for lighting and acoustic quality were comparable to the non-green average....

Indoor Environmental Quality in Mechanically Ventilated, Energy-Efficient Buildings vs. Conventional Buildings

Energy-efficient buildings need mechanical ventilation. However, there are concerns that inadequate mechanical ventilation may lead to impaired indoor air quality. Using a semi-experimental field study, we investigated if exposure of occupants of two types of buildings (mechanical vs. natural ventilation) differs with regard to indoor air pollutants and climate factors. We investigated living a...

Effective Visualization and Control of the Indoor Environmental Quality in Smart Buildings

Smart environments collect huge amounts of low-level data, but tend to fail to provide this data in an accessible, user-friendly, and meaningful way. Given the amount of time we spend inside buildings, the indoor environmental quality has a strong influence on our productivity and health. We developed the system SmartSpaces that aggregates and visualizes environmental data in a smartphone appli...

Air Quality and Thermal Comfort in Office Buildings: Results of a Large Indoor Environmental Quality Survey

This paper presents results of over 34,000 survey responses to air quality and thermal comfort questions in 215 buildings in US, Canada, and Finland. Results show that 80% or more of the occupants expressed satisfaction with their thermal comfort in only 11% of the buildings surveyed. Air quality scores were somewhat higher, with 26% of buildings having 80% or occupant satisfaction. With respec...

An Indoor Positioning System Based on Wi-Fi for Energy Management in Smart Buildings

To offer indoor services to occupants in the context of smart buildings, it is necessary to consider information concerning to the identity and location of the occupants. This paper proposes an indoor positioning system (IPS) based on Wi-Fi fingerprint and K-nearest neighbors (KNN) method. The positioning of a mobile device (MD) using Wi-Fi technology involves online and offline phases. In this...
